Music Marketing:
services for bands & solo artists
I’ll bet when you started playing music you were inspired to write songs, play to crowded rooms and let your creativity run wild. I’ll bet the last thing on your mind was writing press releases and grinding for followers on social media. Why not outsource those things to someone who actually enjoys them?
Before my freelance marketing career, I spent time working as a:
Music Journalist
Guitar Tutor
Composer for Film
Performing Arts Technician
Music Producer
Live Music Promoter
Music is a big part of my life. I’m really excited to offer marketing services to musicians who are eager to develop their careers but may not have the time, experience or inclination to do it themselves. This is probably an appropriate time to mention my music website – visit LTGuitarist.com if you want to know more about that side of my career.

Here’s the deal…
If these are true for your band / solo music project, I can offer you a reduced, fixed-fee music marketing consultation:
- You’re regularly playing gigs – 2 a month or more on average.
- Total social following of less than 10,000 across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and any other big platforms you use.
- You’re based in the UK: Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk or Greater London.
If the applies to your band, I can offer music marketing consultation for £520.00
A month from now, you’ll have a strategy to build a community around your music. You’ll be able to reach the next stage of your musical career and focus on the reason you started playing music in the first place.
Whether you choose to work through this strategy yourself, or hire me to do some (or all) of it is up to you. Let me explain.
The process looks like this:
First contact. I’ll ask you to pay half of the consultation fee upfront. This is to book a date for the initial consultation.

Initial consultation. We meet in person and talk for an hour or two. You tell me your hopes and dreams; your career highlights to date; your barriers to success and any marketing efforts you’ve made so far.

Research period. This takes me around 2 weeks. It includes a thorough social media audit, keyword research and competitor analysis. You’ll be able to see what successful bands like yours have done, and how it led to their success.

Development period. Typically, another 2 weeks. This is where I compile the research into a strategy document. The document is easy to follow, it will outline the steps for your band to grow and gain the attention you deserve. I’ll then ask you to pay the 2nd half of the consultation fee to book the presentation date.

Strategy presentation. In person, I’ll walk through the strategy point-by-point. I’ll answer questions along the way and make sure you’re happy that you understand the document.

Then what? After the presentation, it’s up to the band how to proceed. Some bands are happy to take the strategy and implement it themselves. Others employ me to enact the marketing strategy on their behalf on a monthly basis. Quite often, bands will pay me to do portions of the strategy on their behalf – like high-quality social video or press releases.
Are you ready to take the next step in your musical career? If so, get in touch.
Maybe a complete, overarching approach isn’t right for you?
Below are the 6 standalone media and music marketing services I offer bands and solo artists. If you’re looking for something that isn’t listed, get in touch. If I can’t do it, I can usually suggest someone who can!
Photography
Time to refresh your image?
Playing a big gig that you’d like to document?
Or, do you simply need to top-up your arsenal of photos and videos for social media?

I’m passionate about live music, and taking photos that capture the energy of a live performance is a pure joy.
Drop me a line to bring me to your next gig.
Videography
I’ve been filming music events for over 10 years. Originally, live music videography was something I did as part of my role in music journalism and music education. These days, it’s something I offer as a standalone service to musicians.
Have you got a big gig coming up that you’d like to document? Do you want a fresh batch of content to dive into each time you create music videos or short form content?
Get in touch to bring me to your next gig.
Strategic Social Video
Social media is a pain in the ass. You have to give each platform what it wants before it shows anything to the people who’ve followed you.

Right now, every major social media platform is asking users to create short form video content – so how do you give the platform what it wants whilst also getting what you need for your band?
That’s the challenge of social media, and it’s a challenge I really enjoy. Get in contact.
Poster Design
Never underestimate the power of physical marketing. Few musicians have the skills to create a compelling, cost-effective poster design. Neither do a lot of promoters, I’m afraid.
Benefits include:
- Contribute to brand recognition – posters are a must in your hometown.
- Implied authority, especially if it’s well designed.
- Easily be reformatted for social posts.
If you’d like to commission me to design posters for your next event, release, or for brand awareness, get in touch today.
Album Cover Design
For the last 10 years I’ve created art for all my singles and E.Ps, and now I’m excited to offer this design service to your band.

What sets my work apart is the inclusion of physical elements. I’ve always believed that great art can’t exist entirely on a computer, so I’m committed to using real-world elements in my album art designs. That could be photos of instruments, staged band images, or experimental techniques such as circuit bent video, data corrupted images, or the chaotic scan distortion used in Blue Alatar’s Worship cover art – one of my favourites.
If you’d like to commission me to create art for your next release, get in touch today.
Animated Music Videos
Share your latest music in style.
The benefit of an animated music video is it doesn’t need the entire band to show up for long, arduous days on set.
Animated music videos are also much more cost effective than hiring an entire film crew and their equipment!
Similar to album cover design, I’m committed to using real-world assets in these animated videos, This gives me the edge over similar creators, who often half-ass something in Adobe After Effects. I have an array of physical effects available including macro videography, prism effects, circuit bent hardware and vintage cameras.
